Alan Fearnley

Alan was born in Yorkshire and studied at Batley College of Art. Initially his paintings included railway architecture, but then he moved away from topographical and landscape compositions towards transport oriented mechanical subjects especially motor racing - motor sport being one of his loves. His oil on canvas paintings reflect his understanding of the world of motor racing and breadth of subject matter encompassed by it - this is evident in that his work attracts a large international following. Alan is convinced that if the enthusiast school is ever to be recognised and valued as it ought to be, it must produce pictures of such an artistic quality that they can be appreciated and valued by art lovers. They must also have pictorial merit to hang anywhere not only in the study of car enthusiasts.

Alan is probably best known to the public through reproductions of his original oil paintings, but his painting career has also earned him a reputation which has led to commissions from corporate bodies. His work can be seen in the offices of Eddie Stobart Limited, Rolls Royce, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz to name but a few. His paintings also feature in private collections worldwide.
